A group of Yorktowners first petitioned New York State in 2002 for the creation of a Dog Run in FDR State Park. In 2004 we became know as the Friends of the Dog Run at FDR. Recently, despite previous support, the state confirmed that a Dog Run in FDR would not be approved. On October 4, 2007 we turned to the Yorktown Parks and Recreation Commission for help. Click to download our presentation or the minutes. Now we have the endorsement of the Commission and are close to making the Yorktown Community Dog Park a reality!
